Default Do I need a new ac drier?

So I replaced my condenser awhile ago when I replaced my water pump and oil cooler. After opening my ac system and exposing it to atmospheric pressure, should I have replaced my receiver/drier?

I just refilled the system and it is blowing hot. Compressor turns on, and my gauge readings are normal both with engine (and compressor) running and engine off. Could this be because I didn't replace the drier when I should have?

Tia.

The dryer will have little to do with that, unless there is enough moisture in there that it is freezing up immediately. (not likely) Did you pull a vacuum on the system before recharging it?

Yes, I vacuumed the system before I recharged. With good gauge numbers, what could it be? A leak?
But if it was a leak, wouldn't the gauge numbers be off?

What year is your van? Is your blend door controlled by a cable, or the electric stepper motor?
