Default P1740 - Governor Solenoid and Transducer

I got the P1740 code a few times in the past month. After doing a lot of reading and searching I am going to replace the governor solenoid and the transducer in the trans pan. My question is, while I have the pan dropped, would you recommend replacing anything else while I am in there. The filter is new so I dont have to do that.

Also, if you have part numbers for the governor solenoid and the transducer that you prefer please send as well.

If you have done this job before any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Amazon Amazon
Tranny fluid was expensive so if yours is good, salvage it. Adjust the bands while you are in there.

Adjust the bands as well while you have the pan off.

Buy mopar parts and replace the filter and adjust the bands if know how. If you don't feel like you can handle adjusting the bands. Don't.

I got Borg-Warner parts, those no good? Gonna do the filter too....not touching the bands, have a feeling I could make things worse, the tranny has been good to me so far (knock on wood)

I have tried aftermarket parts some where okay, But like sensors mopar is better and most of the time you will get the correct parts.

I got borg warner and it worked. I had the same codes and limp mode in my 01 1500 ram. They fit right in and it should work fine. And adjusting the bands if they are too lose would be a good idea too. Make sure you adjust them correctly and you'll be in good shape. Good luck.
