Hi guys,

I'd previously posted about where to get hold of a fuel tank for my 1996 B3500 as they're not produced any more. I managed to find a used one but can't get anyone to ship it - so, back to the drawing board!

I was wondering if anyone had ever replaced a B3500 fuel tank with one from a different Dodge van or even from a different manufacturer? I need to get the fuel pump and sender unit replaced too so was wondering how difficult it is to use a different fuel tank with the proper B3500 fuel pump and sender unit, or whether I could even try and use an alternative fuel tank and sender unit?

My guess is, that any van fuel tank, 96-00 or so, would bolt right in, and hook right up. It's possible they used the same tanks in trucks as well, but, I would chat with someone with an interchange manual about that before spending money.

 

Some of you guys looking for parts really need to give us an idea on your location, Im just saying you might have more people willing to help if you are close by.
I understand not giving specifics as I'm the same way.

 

I'm in San Francisco i've not found it easy finding parts nearby!
