Scanner recommendations.
Can anyone recommend a capable ABS scanner for Chrysler vehicles built from the late 90s to the mid-2000s? I understand that at least some of the software required to interpret trouble codes from this and other modules is proprietary, but I imagine that there is at least one affordable scanner which can point me in the right direction. Two of my vans (a '99 & an '02, both 3500 series, one with 2 wheel ABS, the other with 4 wheel) have the ABS & brake warning lights on, and I have had no luck sorting either of the issues out. I have thrown a few parts at the problems to no avail, so it's time I got some specific information.
I'm willing to spend around $200 to get a tool that can actually read the ABS codes on these vehicles.
Any ideas?

I had my ABS and Red Brake light on dash come on (1999 5.2 liter van). The short version was: remove the windshield washer bottle and reach behind the ABS module. Two connectors are on the back side, make sure they are both plugged in tightly. One came loose some how and that fixed my problem.
Unfortunately, that's already been done.
I have been down every conceivable path looking for the problem, and haven't gotten anywhere. Advance & AutoZone have both told me they cannot read the ABS codes with either their loaner or staff scanners.

Excellent. If they stock what I need, that's certainly an option. I just hope they actually communicate with the van's module and give me useful information. In the past, I've had compatibility issues with scanners trying to deal with other problems.

Try it in the parking lot, if it doesn't do what you need, take it back.
