Default Solved!

Tasked to a certified Chyrsler technician and he told me the #1 i issue concerning this code and symptoms was a bad PCM.

I popped in a rebuilt unit and the van fired right up and I've been driving it.

Wow. On the trucks, it's rarely the PCM that causes it. Glad ya got it fixed.

Wonder if it has something to do with where it's mounted? Not sure about the trucks but on vans it's mounted below the cowl. Like it could be more prone to engine heat.

On the trucks, its in the engine compartment, on the passenger side firewall..... At least it isn't right above the engine.

On my 2001 Ram Van 3500, it was a bad PCM that caused these same issues. I beat my head against the wall testing voltages on sensors, checking for bad grounds, etc. before just buying a PCM. I got a remanufactured PCM from Cardone that was DOA, returned it (after several unpleasant conversations with PartsGeek) and got one from a salvage yard. It then fired right up!

Not sure how a replacement PCM will do since you have a different engine. I made sure mine matched up exactly with the old one.

As for the fuel pump running, on mine, when the PCM was not working the fuel pump relay would not activate, so no fuel pump. When my PCM would occasionally work, I could hear/feel the fuel pump relay click on when the key was turned to on (no crank).
