Atf/Acetone Smoke
Hey everyone,
I was having trouble with a rusted spark plug, and found some advice online about the 50/50 acetone and atf solution for penetrating oil. I pumped some on the spark plug but it might have been a little too much... anyway the spark plug came off (thank god) but now when I run the engine, the solution that sprayed on the engine block is smoking and it makes me nervous.
Has anyone had similar experiences? Is my car going to catch on fire?

It should burn off fairly quickly. If you are nervous about it, start the engine, let it idle, and watch for the smoking to stop.
Another option would be to let the engine cool COMPLETELY.... Then it with brake or carb cleaner, to remove the residue. Carb/Brake cleaner evaporates pretty quick, cleans nice, and any residue from it burns off in seconds after startup.
