Ok, that seems reasonable.

Run 'em. See what happens. Looking at your old ones, I really don't think they could possibly make it ride worse......

@HeyYou Figured it out.

Ran the part number for the shock I pulled off. The shock is for a b3500 but NOT the 4000lb axle....the van has had the wrong shocks on it the whole time.

SO!

Now not only will I have bilsteins but I will have the correct shocks haha. I just hope it doesn't ride rough as hell

So it should REALLY ride better than it did.

Welp....im all done

Second side went much better after I had to replace the entire upper control arm. looks like they must've destroyed the balljoint threads and then just decided to weld it in there.... (facepalm)

So it's done and after all that I still have the issue I was trying to fix. Shudder/vibration right around 80mph.

Any ideas. Tires are new and wheels/tires were balanced. Im thinking of getting a set of alloy wheels just to rule out these big heavy steelies.

Does the vibration change if you let off the gas pedal?

@HeyYou I don't believe so, I even threw it in neutral down a big canyon and it was still hopping around a bit.

Even took it to a driveline guy and he checked my joints said no problems then drove it and said the vibration is indicative of wheels and tires, and that was right after I had just gotten them balanced.

Very confused

Rotate the tires and see if the vibration changes at all. That will tell you if it IS the wheels/tires, or something else.

Is this one of those that has the wheel bearings inside the brake rotor? I know with putting them back on it's very different from other vehicles (i.e. the axle nut is tightened by hand) and you have to reseat the rotor and spin it onto the axle.

When I did mine I noticed it was possible to reattach the rotor without the wheel bearings lining up on the inside races of the rotor. Not sure if that would be the problem, just brainstorming.

@1990B150318 Yes this is correct. When I take the rotor off the bearings come with it inside of it. Might be worth checking but I gave them a spin and a wiggle and they seemed okay after I put them on

@HeyYou I got some new wheels and put the tires I already had on them, the tires from the front are now on the back and it does feel like the vibration has gone to the back...

The weirdest thing though is that it used to cause the doghouse to bounce around and although it does it a lot less it still does intermittently, but the bulk of the vibration seems to be at the back now.

Should i take it to the tire shop a third time and tell them? I feel like they might warranty my tires (discount tire)
