Default 1987 b250 check engine light location?

Anyone know where I can find the check engine light on the instrument panel on a 87 b250? Trust me, I wouldn’t be asking if I haven’t tried looking for it myself.

It may not have one. You have an engine controller, not a computer. I believe the CEL came about when fuel injection came in. I may be wrong as I don't remember working on an '87 Mopar. The CEL is part of the computer system.

Sorry. You definitely don't have one. It came in 1988.

Are you really sure?

What are the bulbs to the right? What warning do they illuminate?

Look directly below the fuel and temp gauge. There is a square box there with the CEL in my 1990. Are we sure that doesn't exist on this year model?

I misspoke. If you have one it will not be one that gives codes. Some of those lights could be high temp, low oil. On my 1994 it is right where 1990B150 pictured his. Frome 1978 to 1994 they kept the same basic style dash. So you should have the check engine light in the same location if you have one. https://www.*********.com/threads/19...k-light.50791/

Up until the 80s cars just had "idiot lights". They did away with those in the early mid 80s.

This person's 1986 Dodge had one.

Ummmm....actually, "Idiot Lights" came around in the late 1950's. Prior to that, you had gauges, sometimes. The factory's started putting the basic lights in to cut costs. Go back far enough, you often didn't have anything. Radiator caps might have a temperature gauge on them. Crank start with a magneto and you didn't have an electrical system so no amp meter or volt meter. Speedometers were options, if you could get one, if you go back far enough.
