On the friends' 04 Jeep GC , it was a fluke - and not any actual faults.
Maybe you will have that kind of luck too. Worth a try
Told him i wasn't about to touch anything on it - but he could try the positive cable disco ,,, and it worked

A few years before that happened, my brother had a bunch of weird electrical witches pop up on his 03 Chevy 2500 Truck one morning.
Wasn't going to make it into work.
It was fine when he parked it the night before.
He got ahold of his pro mechanic friend and was advised to try the positive cable disco.
No probo since then. Fluke
Cars have gotten weird, and those obdII creatures are getting some age on them

These might have been miracles, but you take it when you get one. lol
Good Luck !

Ok. Positive terminal removal did not work. Measured resistance of sensor. 1.5 kohms. Sound right. Measured as far up the harness as i could. Same reading. My question is if i want to measure this 5 volts on the line, does the harness have to be connected to the sensor? Also, does anyone know where i might find where this ends up front? Where can i measure to see if i have 1.5k at the other end?

Like I said I cannot find anything online for B vans. It is all ram truck info. Does the 96 van even have a Discreet ABS controller? IF so, where is it? Is there a relay? I can follow the wiring from the rear diff sensor til about half way up the underside of the van and it all checks out and then I am stumped. All I see is a porportioning valve on the brake fluid resivoir with a 4 or 4 lead connector. Any help would be gratefully appreciadted

You should see the 5 volts even with the sensor unplugged. Could try looking for wiring diagrams here, not sure how readable they are....

Where the controller is depends on if you have 2 wheel abs (RWAL) or 4 wheel ABS. (4WAL) If there is a motor controller under the hood, that's 4WAL. Another way to check, is if you have wheel speed sensor on the front wheels.

It is just a 2wd van. I think I found it behind the glove box. Now I am just trying to figure out the pinout on the connector so I can short pin 13 to ground. Thanks.

Number of drive wheels doesn't matter. My 4x4 is RWAL, though 4WAL was an option. Sounds like you just have RWAL though.

Yes, it just has the one sensor in the rear. Sorry, this abs trouble shooting is new for me. I think I am messing up with trying to get the fault codes off of the abs controller also. When everyone was saying to short out pin 13, I was thinking on the abs controller. Is it pin 13 on the OBD2 port? I will get this figured out yet. LOL.

That would be pin 13 in the ALDL under the steering column. (OBDII port) Black wire, with white trace.

OK. I shorted pin 13 and I have ABS code 7. I read an article that said faulty CAB unit. What is the cab unit? Where is it? Also could be open fuse pellet in cab unit or short to ground in isolation solenoid. Any ideas on what I should do next?

Controller, Anti-Lock Brake.

On the trucks, its behind the glovebox. On the vans? No idea.
