Thanks Van Z, but yes, they have looked at the return fuel. And over flow is right! I could not believe how much fuel was being returned. But I'm not a mechanic so anyone who is probably would not be surprised.

Thanks again.

21 is rich. If it's still 21 it's still running rich. The brand of sensor is very important. Since we don't know where the problem lies and with all of the other work done, I'd check O2 out again and replace with factory or Denso.
You should also have gotten a code 12 and 55 also. If neither of those showed I'd question the ECU. Try unplugging the O2 sensor and running it.

Asking someone about codes is pretty standard!

I don't know the brand of O2 sensor we put in. I'll ask the mechanic. We have run it without the sensor with no change.

Yes, I did get codes 12 and 55.

Appreciate the input - thank you, 1990.

12 and 55 are expected. Talking about a battery disconnect in last 50 key cycles, (12) and End Of Codes (55).

Does your van use a crank sensor?

re: 12 & 55
Yep, that is why I didn't originally list them.

Crank sensor... I never heard of it. It seems like I have dealt with all the sensors in the last month or so but never heard of that one. Don't know what it is... will have to look it up

Do you mean to say that these two mechanics that have been working on your van for a month never bothered to check the crankshaft position sensor to see if it was working? That's what controls the firing of the spark for all the cylinders. Remove the engine dog house and it's on the passenger side right where the bell housing bolts up to the engine block, it's held in by two bolts and has a pigtail coming off with three wires in it.

WhatEverWhy; Where are you in getting your beast back running. I'm at your last post #25 and you were about to check the Crank Sensor.

Don't you leave and let all your shadow followers hanging and not let all know the answer to your 'picking and trying'. I just found your help request about 30 minutes ago and it all reminded me of a 20 yrs ago long road trip and things stopped in the middle of Kansas. Let us hear in how your are doing this Wed nite. 8/18/21.

Back in the day, we had a '82 318 Dodge 'Prospector' as one of the running PU for the wife's grocery getter.
