225 under load on a hot day isn't too bad. Cooler would be nice, but hey, you don't always get that option.

Bigger radiator wouldn't hurt, but, not sure if there is one...... Need to measure yours, and then see what options are out there.

Another fan sure won't hurt you.

What brand of fans are people using? I never thought of an additional fan, but if it helps, I'm all for it!
I'm not sure how hot is too hot, to be honest. I've always figured the orange line was TOO hot, but I don't like to see it over the 210 line--at least, not for long periods.

I'm still running the stock clutch fan. In my case, my radiator turned out to be badly clogged. I tried to baby it to get home, but it ran hot all through the Rockies, even in cool ambient temps at night.

I didn't want to risk crossing the desert with it in that condition, so I spent a day in a friend's driveway in Las Vegas replacing the radiator. I wanted to go with a 2 row all aluminum radiator, but at that point I had to go with whatever was in stock at the store. So, 1 row plastic/aluminum it is. I had hoped to find something better, seeing as how Vegas has some big radiator warehouses, but no suck luck.

The good news is, I was able to cross the desert that evening and get home to central California with the temp gauge firmly in the normal range. True, it wasn't as hot as it would have been in the daytime, but that just means 90-100°F ambient instead of 110-120°F ambient.

A 3 row nascar radiator will do you quite well

That's the sort of thing I wanted, but I ended up putting myself in a situation where I had to take what I could get locally. Oh well. Hopefully it will last.

Out of curiosity, though, is nascar a brand of radiator you're suggesting, or are you just recommending a multi-row racing radiator? I ask because in my searching online I've only found 1 and 2 row radiators--even the $500+ all aluminum ones were only 2 row.

Do you have a link to a 3 row radiator for a Ram Van that I can save for future reference?
