Default p0301 - fourth time now

Hi all...
I am afraid that I may need new heads like I did when I had the v6.
I have gotten p0301 four times now.
The first time I just turned it off...
The second time I guessed it needed wires...
I replaced the cap, rotor wires and plugs...I used the best stuff I could find -- even ceramic boot wires
p0301 came on again...I turned it off
again yesterday my wife said the light came on -- yep p0301.
It does idle weird. It is shaky. I have done the IAC, and the finger trick and also have a OEM TPS on there too. I was having the transmission drop out before I changed the wires and the wires have seemed to fix that issue, but not the p0301.
Could it be anything else? I really dont do want to do a head job, but I did it myself on the v6...it isnt that bad of a job especially as we get to sit down for it the whole time Just expensive...
Thanks all.
Joe

What plugs did you install?

Try swapping the injectors on 1 and 3. See if the miss follows the injector.

Cylinder leakdown test would be interesting as well. That would tell you if you had a valve issue. Even a compression test would be useful information.

Im glad you posted - thank you. I finally got around to it this week.

I had a brain fart. I replaced the injectors about 6 months ago - duhhhh ;p. I got another (via warranty) and swapped it out. I runs much better and havent got the code after 30 miles now.

But the situation was really similar when I had a burnt valve when I had the 3,9 in the van. I kind of jumped to a conclusion I hope

Hey, it's fixed, (hopefully) that is all that matters.
