Pcm swapping???

I swapped over a replacement ctm/airbag module today and it started fine. But then tried to start again and it will crank no start.
I read on a different forum that I guy had this same problem (he swapped over a new pcm) and someone mentioned that he probably accidentally activated a security feature in the module. So if that happens, you need to replace both BCM and PCM so they match.
Has anyone heard of this?
If I go to the same truck that I found my ctm/module and grab that PCM from that same van and put it in mine "then my van will have matching ctm/pcm" would that work? In other words, does a PCM swap require it to be programed for that specific vehicle?
