Hello, I bought a '94 b250, and the engine block needs to be replaced. It has a 5.9L 360 engine. Would I be able to swap out the engine for one that comes from a truck like a ram 1500? The engine is the same size. I am having a hard time finding an engine for my van. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please let me know. Thank you!

The 5.9 magnum engines are pretty much the same, regardless of what they came installed in.
So, pretty much any 5.9 93 or newer, will work. Just need to use the intake, and electrics, off of your original motor. Maybe the oil pan/pump pickup as well. Oh, and.... 95 and older use EGR, so, if the donor is 96 or newer, you will need the exhaust manifolds from your motor as well.

You have my permission.

Magnum blocks are pretty much all the same. Ram 1500, Dakota's and such use the same engine. One caveat though. Sometime in the late 90's Ma Mopar changed the way the 360 was balanced. I think if you reuse the flex plate it may work.

Ah, good point. 95 and older the balance weights were on the torque converter, 96 and up, the weights were on the flexplate. You can't mix and match there. Originally Posted by ol' grouch

The engine will vibrate itself to pieces.
