Default Door lock solenoids/actuators

Hi all.
Can the door lock actuators be rebuilt? By who? Or are there instructions anywhere? This part is getting really hard to find - especially the passenger and cargo door.
Thanks

Aren't they part of the door latch? I know on mine, they simply don't work. Either side..... I hear a motor spin, but, not lock action in either direction. I always thought they were solenoids... apparently, that isn't the case.

I *might* still have a spare layin' about somewhere, no idea if it actually worked or not... gonna try and find it, and see how it is supposed to work.

No they arent. The solenoid is connected to rods that go to the latch.
It basically a solenoid that is the size of a cigarette box. Easy to fix when you have another to put in...:P

Interesting. On my trucks, it's mounted directly to the latch. And they don't work.

So I need to make a correction. @HeyYou you were right.

I thought the door actuator was like the cargo doors. Those have separate latches. The front door the latch is integrated into the solenoid. Sounds similar to what you have.

Pretty easy job...take off the door panel...Pull off the two electrical connections....take off the door handle and then undo the door cable...take off the three actuator rods..take off the 3 torx t27 bolts...remove latch actuator...assembly is reverse of removal

Works great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also put new headlights on - wow - so much more light! Today, the van got a new serpentine belt too.
