i have a 1990 ram van B350 5.9L 360 church bus that wont go above 55 mph runs and drives great otherwise, how do i make it go faster?
How does it act when it stops at 55? Speed up with plenty of power then bog down fast? Does it bog more the faster you go? I'd hook a vacuum gauge to it and see what vacuum you're pulling. If your exhaust is partially plugged, the vacuum will drop as you speed up until there is barely any vacuum. This would indicated a plugged exhaust. Maybe the converter or muffler has rusted and collapsed inside or maybe a rodent has built a nest in your exhaust. With the exhaust cool, you can crawl underneath and thump it with your fist. Rust will sort of rattle when you do that.
