Default 1992 ECM for 3.9L

All,

I need an ECM and would like to know what years will work with my van. There are plenty of them on eBay, but Iḿ not sure if there were changes made on different years and if they are ¨plug and play¨

Thanks!

If it had the same engine/trans/fuel system combo, it will likely work. Keep in mind, nothing 96 or newer will be compatible. 92 was the first year for the multiport fuel injection on the 3.9, so, likely anything 92-95 should work. And yep, should be plug and play.

Thanks for the reply HeyYou!

I see some listings for the ECM's on eBay as "plug and play". I thought these were matched to VIN? I know that 1992 was a long time ago, but I'm on a time constraint and need this ECM ASAP. Ones that I've replaced before were on 1996< vans, which might be the difference. If someone can confirm, that would be great!

I'm having this 4X4 van shipped form CA to SC. It does not run, and I suspect it's from the ECM. It will cost way more if they have to drag this onto the shipping trailer.

I have had several Ram Vans and that is usually what happens given the ECM is right above that hot engine in a confined space.

95 and older PCM's are NOT flash programmable, they don't care about the vin, or anything else, so long as it is for the correct engine/trans combo, its prug and pray.
