Default 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Taillight bulb wont fit into tailight housing

Hi, I have a 2002 Dodge 3500 van, wanted to replace both taillight bulbs 921. None of these compatible bulbs (including Sylvania halogen 921, and LED's) do not fit, they are a bit too long, hitting against the inside taillight housing and preventing the socket from seating and turning clockwise to lock. Bought the sylvania and 2 different manufactured led bulbs and they light up but dont fit inside the taillight housing. Tried forcing them in with no luck. Has anyone else come across this issue? Any recommendations/fixes. Thanks

Get the regular ol' average everyday bulbs. Stuff 'em in there. They *should* fit.

yes, im pushing the bulb as hard as I can into the socket without having it snap. Im using longlife sylvania 921 bulb. Can i substitue a different bulb like a 194 led? That one would fit.

I dont think there the same size. At least on my issue. I tried the recommended sizes from the auto parts stores and the amazon website. Will try again to fit the lamp sockets in soon.

The bulbs look the same length however, the newer bulbs look wider. Going to try inserting the old bulbs in again soon and see if that's the problem. What a pain in the a>>
