Replace exhaust manifold gasket w/ engine in van?
2000 Ram 3500 Maxi van. I think I have an exhaust manifold gasket leak on the passengers side.
I assume I can replace the gasket without removing the engine from the van. Can I replace the gasket without having to undo a bunch of stuff? I am hoping I can remove bolts, loosen studs, and slide the manifold over just enough to remove the gasket and then slide in the new one?
Has anyone does this before? I did a search in this forum and the DIY forum but nothing came up. How-to videos on YouTube came up dry too.
Anyone with experience, to chime in, would be welcome.
Thanks!

I don't think there are gaskets in there stock...... That said, you *should* be able to install one with the motor in the van. I would completely remove the manifold though, and clean up the mating surfaces, then use some GOOD gaskets. Some dead-soft aluminum or copper gaskets would make sure you never had to deal with it again. Make REAL sure WHERE it is leaking from before taking anything off though.
