Default transmission mount

man - one thing after another

So I fixed the motor mount and it is great now...
But I feel a thud like a bad ujoint now...and I replaced the ujoints only 1000 miles ago...
I can move the transmission almost an inch right and left with just my hand...and I am not pressing too hard...it looks like it would move a lot when the gas would be applied through the trans...
Now i just had the trans rebuilt and it rocks - perfect...but what is this strange thud now? I didnt feel it UNTIL I fixed the motor mount...I would think the shop would have noticed a bad mount
But it still could be the ujoints??? maybe...I mean it feels almost like it and it only does it every 5-10 stop starts...if it was a ujoint it would happen all the time...

any ideas all

thanks

There is a mechanical linkage in there as well, to prevent the trans from moving too much..... but, given you can push it around by hand, yeah, that ain't right.

sure seems like it...just took it out for a couple of miles, but it is smoother

What is funny is there are 8 bolts on that bracket - that is a little crazy for one mount LOL

Oh come on, there's nothing wrong with that mount that a bit o' duct tape wouldn't fix...... for a couple seconds anyway.

You REALLY don't want the rear end of your trans floppin' about. Bad things tend to happen.
