Default Intake manifold vacuum line on 1996 B2500

I got a check engine light with code P0108. i replaced MAP Sensor and still getting same code, then noticed a loud sucking sound from the vacuum lines on the passenger side of the intake manifold. the larger line goes to the main engine bay and tees off. One branch goes to the Speed control vacuum reservoir and the other branch goes back into the firewall. The other line of the Y looks much cleaner and had this small collar with a crack in it. it is sucking air like crazy. Was this capped or did it go somewhere?

Is the little black feller there a plug? If so, just replace that short little piece of line, and plug it off again.

That may or may not have anything to do with your map problem. That sensor is on the front of the throttle body, and has a little elbow hose connecting it to the TB. If that is dry-rotted, like that little short piece there, yep, you get a map code.

Thanks for the reply. I replace the Map Sensor this morning and i thought the elbow hose was in good shape. I will check it again. I have no idea if that 'little black feller' was a plug, is just sucking in huge amounts of air. I just cant find it on any diagram. the cracked 'collar' is hard like plastic.

It *looks* like a plug in the pics, but, can't really see the end of it very well. The 'collar' piece is likely just a piece of vacuum line that has petrified due to age, and heat.
