The transmission shift well, now: but the flex plate is contacting the dust cover which is grinding and noise; the dust cover was removed not grinding, Do I need the dust cover ? or do a custom work cutting the part that is contacting the flex plate ?

Don't really *need* it, but, it's nice to have..... Find where it's rubbing, and bend it around a bit.

I did use a metal polishing wheel and cleaned the grinding area, bend the dust cover a little toward the starter, and work great........
