Poor Paint Job
My 2003 Ram 1500 has a severe case of peeling Clear Coat. Dodge says it was only covered the first year! It's now my problem!
Can anyone offer some advice?

RE: Poor Paint Job
Well here's my advice:
You are probably going end up paying out of pocket for a new paint job, it's inevitable.
The cheapest thing to do is to take your truck to a preffered Dodge dealer with a paint shop and have them match the paint and quote you a price. My guess is somehwere near $600 to clean up and respray the affected area (And surrounding area to blend the paint.) Black is a tricky color and no two mixes of black areexactly the same.
With that said;
The most likely scenario will bethat theysuggest you repaint the whole truck to ensure that the clearcoat doesn't peel anywhere else, I would do so if that is the case. This will give you the best result and will prevent a color differencefrom being notice. Be prepared to spend a couple thousand for a quality job.
If you feel as though you can do the painting on your own, that may be your best bet. Although I reccomend you leave it to the experts. Because it will end up being more expensive and may not come out as nice as a paint shop can do.
You may also go to a paint shop of your preference too.
Good luck.

If you want a unique truck, Line-X it like I did. It'll be cheaper than a paint job and it'll never peal off like that. Dodge factory paint gives dog **** a bad name.

RE: Poor Paint Job
i would like to see how it looked. looks good in the bed but think it would look funny on the whole truck. Wouldn't have to worry about dents and scratches in the parking lot (or woods) any more. lol
