How do you all park?
Im a college student with a 97 ram 1500 long box. Im just wondering the best way to park it. I have a hell of a time especially when theres a little spot availible. Im used to a little berreta. I see alot of trucks backed in. Is that the best way to go? How do all you do it. Especially long box owners.
yea i have problems parking my extended cab with a long bed in the straight spots. the slanted ones i can do easy but the straight ones. especially if there is anohter car behind the spot i want i won't park unless there is two spots available, generally and have adopted my "whatever" frame of mine. after backing up and straightening out once if im not perfect i'll get it as straight as i can and who cares if in im two spaces. im use to driving my mothers toyota echo...which would probably fit in my bed so its much harder to park my truck lol. so im also intrested to see hints people have.. cus it can't be as hard as i make it
That's why I got a regular cab short box because it is real easy for me to park. But yes the easiest way I have found myself is to back in. Though some days I do need a sticker on my truck that says "makes wide right turns"

You have two choices here for parking. 1. backing in for me is still the best way to park. If I dont I still have to back out, come back in repeat. 2. Get a 10 inch lift, 50 inch tires and park wherever the hell you want.
My Ram has a pretty damn tight turning radius for a longbox. I just park pretty much however and wherever I want. It's usually easier to back in, but just depends on how wide I can swing the turn.

Yeah, I had to do that once with two little cars parked right on the lines for "my" spot, but was the ONLY parking spot availible in my apartment complex at 3:00am when we had all the new arrivals here. People have moved out, or been terminated since then, so there is plenty of room though.
I just park straight in usually. I've only had to parallel it once, but I can park my truck anywhere most folks can park a car. As long as there truly is physically enough room for the truck, im good to go.
I went through my permit period driving a Durango, my dad's Chevy 1500, my dad's Chevy 3500 w/ dual rear wheels, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. .... so size doesnt bother me.
