Anyone in Indiana, Illinois, or Wisconsin got a performance exhaust installed. I have been interested in the Gibson street truck performance exhaust. I like the side exit in front of the rear tire, along with the big stainless rectangular tips. Anyone near the Chicago area with an exhaust installed please contact me. I want the Gibson but are worried about interior noise levels. My 99 Dakota I installed a Flowmaster and duals that thing hummed like a banshee inside when I got on the Highway. I want a rumble but I also like to be able to close the windows and hear the radio on the highway.

Sorry, I am not in your area, however a friend of mine put a Gibson exhaust on his truck and hated it. He said there was a constant buzz at all speeds. He switched to Borla and claimed there was just a low rumble under normal driving and deep tones at WOT. Alot of internet sites now have sound clips you can listen to. Just my 2 cents.

The first thing that attracted me to the Gibson was the stainless side exhaust dual rectangular tips. I like the exit point. I imagine I could get the same tips separate. I will have to check BORLA, I have been concidering them for my Vette as well.

You can get the same tips seperately from Gisbon, but I was seriously considering the side exit and then I heard it on a truck with my engine... HATED IT! Sounded weak and grainy. I got a Mopar Performance Cat Back Exhaust instead... and I LOVE the sound, although the stock look is SO boring... LOL! But that's okay, people don't know she's fast until she's gone...
I live in Michigan... so I'm right around your area, but I'm not listed... LOL!
Try looking for the tips here:

I really am a fan of that side exit. On my 99 Dakota Sport, I had duals which caused me to remove my spare. I had chrome 3" round tips...they didn't last the winter. How are the stainless, and I see there are different categories of stainless? I like the appearance of the dual rectangular tips out the side. I just need to find the right sound. The flowmasters that I had would be too loud for what I want. I would have to look into other flowmaster series models.

Flowmaster has the new 50 series designed for the Hemi. I got mine yesterday with dual stainless tips with black inside. I had to come out of the back because my nerfbarsare rear well to rear well. However it sounds great and looks cool with 4 tips out the back.

Flowmaster System (part # 17375) a system setup specifically for the HEMI. Ordered through Summitt racing...comes with all pieces and pipe including hangers for stock locations and chome tips. Also, comes with attachments for side or rear exit. I LOVE the sound, has a nice rumble to it. Quiet at cruising speed and idle, but sounds mean as hell when you stand on the gas! </P>
Also, i'm in Indiana, so i'm in your neck of the woods.</P><edited><editID>RcBandit28</editID><editDate>38014.0096296296</editDate></edited>

Hey RcBandit28...</P>
Did you install that exhaust system yourself. I'm looking into that system as well and wondering if I can install it myself or if I have to take it to a muffler shop...It sounds like its a straight bolt on.</P>
Thanks</P>

Straight bolt on.....I installed it myself for the most part....had one of the techs (I work at a Dodge Dealership) help me out just a bit, and make sure everything was lined up and everything. I know another guy on another site that installed it in his driveway in about an hour and a half. The System is just a little pricey at like $380, but I think it's well worth it, i have no regrets!
