Hi People,
My name is Matt and I am going insane here,,I don't know which to go with, I really want a Hemi and have driven with both motors .the 4.7 not as sluggish as I thought it would be,Anybody modding them and getting close to 300 horse??The only thing scarying me from the Hemi is I drove one and it read 13.7mpg,, fine,,,but drove another that read 10.7,BAD ,do these things vary that much??
Can get good deals on both, some real good ones with 4.7..Oh Yah I do haul a 6x12 enclosed trailer with a quad in it a couple times a month up some big hill's,,can the 4.7 get up them pulling something like without being screaming in 2 gear?????I know I'm rambling that's how confused I am.. I'm 32 years old and can't figure out which one to get, been researhing for like a month,Alway's been a Ford man so I don't know much about these.Any help would be nice.
Thanks,
Matt

Might as well get the Hemi. If you're driving yourself crazy now, imagine what it will be like when you have a truck and can only wonder about it.

4.7 will push or pull most anything as mentioned so what more do you get with a Hemi? A little more gas used and alot more power for stop light to stop light action.
Depends on whats important to you. Get the job done and mileage or that plus light to light action.

My 04 Hemi gets around 16 city and 18 hwy ....normal.....
When I stck my foot in it ..... a bit less
If I pamper it.... a bit more
I don't think there is that much difference in the milage of a 4.7 and a Hemi.

Why is their even a quesiton? HEMI of course! The 4.7L is a great motor, but if you buy that, you'll always be saying "Damn it, I should have gotten a Hemi!"

When I was looking at these trucks, I thought about the 4.7 but the more I thought of the Hemi, it was a no brainer, the difference of a couple mpg and 345 hp + resale....I didn't buy my truck for gas mileage....lol
