Default Buying My First Dodge Ram - Looking for Opinions

New to the forum. I am getting ready to buy a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L 4x4 with under 50K miles. I am just looking for opinions before I officially buy it on Friday. Any and all comments are welcome.

Thanks

Here is the pics of the one I am buying. Thanks for the opinion so far. I really do appreciate it. The one thing I keep battling is if the 4.7 is good enough. I have heard both sides. Keep the comments coming.

Ijust bought the same truck,2004 Quad 4.7 4x4with 21000 miles. Already had to do rear pads and rotors and have a questionable noise in the front end but not all the time. I actually like the truck and honestly the only reasonI bought it was my F150 lease is up and I needed alot of truck with a reasonable payment and the 7/70 warranty is nice. It cost me 150 dollars to transfer it and I have peace of mind for major repairs. The new body style F150 rides way way better than this thing. That Ford 5.4 has great low end but falls flat on its face after 3000 rpm's. Its like what happened?? Anyway these trucks are pretty good but I guess expect the rear to **** the bed at some point and let the 7/70 kick in. The trannies are much improved over the old Dodge units which were the worst in the business for sure,

I can't give you info on that specific truck, but I've owned two Rams, and getting ready to buy a third ('04). I have nothing bad to say about them. I sold my '99 earlier this year with 207,000 miles on it. The radiator went out at 200,000, and I had a couple of air conditioning leaks. I think I am officially a "Dodge" guy now!

the 4.7 is great combination of power and economy, and as said before plenty of power upgrades if you choose to go that route. Its a great loocking truck. Good luck, its a great choice.

Sweet looking truck. I to just became a Ram owner. 2001 5.2 Quad Cab 8' bed. So far I replace a bad speaker with two new rear speakers. Next is my eng light ...bad sensor. I really like the truck. I rarely drive in the spring summer and fall.. I'm a motorcycle dude. The truck will be put work on hauling my trailer cause my wiferides with me nowand long rides, out of state, are notfor her.So the truck will be a nice addition.Good luck on your new Ram.
BTW 4.7 is that 8 cylinders???????
