A small detail can make a difference - windshield wiper in Ford vs Dodge
Amazing what the weather out here in California (it's been raining NON-STOP!) will do for people and their likes and dislikes of vehicles.
The other day I was noticing something in my RAM that never made a point to me until it was pouring rain.
When I made a stop at a restaurant, I took the key out and even though my wiper blades were still in the UP position, the blades, even with the key already out automatically went all the way down to their starting position.
That made me think, "you know what?!"....I don't believe Ford does that.....so to Ford I went the next day.
I recreated the scenario I was in and asked one of the other sales guys if Ford's wiper blades went down automatically...none of them knew...so we tested...
And after testing all the Ford's....mainly the F150's for sake of discussion within this forum, the blades stayed stuck in their position when you pulled their key out.
Now, many might say, what a slight or minute detail.... but come on.....if you know yourself, and the blades were stuck in any position other than their starting position, you would take the time to naturally stick the key back in, turn off the wiper blade motor, then let the blades return, then pull out the key....
Can anyone here see what I see? WASTE OF TIME......
It's the convenience and niceties that are built withing our DODGE RAM's that make them the best beast on the road....
Keep driving and appreciate all that you have and show this demonstration next time you are with a fellow Ford fan
My best,
Mike

My best,

nice observation.... too bad dodge didnt over engineer the master cylinders and slave cylinders in the SRT4 Clutch systems like they did with the ram wiper blades.
Yah, my 94 doesn't have that cool feature... but I always make sure my blades are down before shutting it off... so I can totally appreciate the feature your truck has!! That's so cool... the little things always matter.

Nice feature could have been made even better if Dodge would have used a decent grade rubber in the blade. The factory blades are of poor quality and generally replaced quickly with quality blades by most Ram owners I know.

Yep, that was one feature that impressed me after I bought the truck, I didn't even know that when I placed the factory order. I agree the original wiper blades really suck, I had nothing but wiper chatter when it drizzled. I replaced them with a set from WalMart...lasted 2 months before I got the chatter and streaking. Dodge wanted $24.00 each!!!!
Another one I have noticed is say you are driving in light rain and have the delay on. Then, it starts raining a little harder, but not hard enough to have to go up to the regular speed so you want to just speed them up "one click." Well, on the older Dodges and other trucks here at work, if you do that, you still have to wait until the whole interval of the next speed, but on my Dodge, it does it right when you click and begins the cycle over. If its still not fast enough you can click up and start the cycle over and wait again to see if its your desired speed again and again until you reach the speed you want. I like that you don't have to wait and be partially blinded until the truck feels like it.
Here's another one having to do with the wipers - say it's just misting/raining enough to put a few speckles on the windshield and your the kind of person that likes a clear windshield. Well go ahead and act like your going to hit the washer button- hit it quickly, not long enough to squirt any fluid out, the wipers commence to make one and only one wipe. Even if the washer fluid squirts out a little if pushed quick enough - you only get one wipe.
