Default catch 22 problem Dodge

I have a problem with a 1996 Dodge Ram extended cab 318 engine A/T/C 160,000 Kilometres (100,000 miles)
I live in a climate where it can get fairly cold in winter. On 2 occasions this winter the temperature has gone up to
about -10 to +5 celcius which is about +20 to +35 farenheit. In these 2 instances the truck has been sitting for 2 or 3 days
and not plugged in, which is normal. It will not start, turns over good and it fires and definitly tries to start but won't.
In both cases I have added gas line antifreeze and plugged the vehicle in left it for 3 or 4 hours and have tried to start again.
After some anxious moments, turnong over and bucking it starts. Runs good and will probably continue to for some time.
The real problem is I live 60 kms ( 36 miles) from nearest service and it would have to be towed. If it starts good and I drive it in
the service people are stuck for answers because it is behaving normally.

Anyone else had this problem ?? Any suggestions?

Change the spark plugs, plug wires, and distributor cap and rotor. It sounds like condensation in the cap to me.

I agree. Besides, those items are not a waste to do, even if it does not fix the problem. But I'd bet it will help tremendously, nonetheless.

Thanks for your advice..Nothing has been done to the ignition for 100,000 kms or 60,000 miles.
It's about time. I guess I am a believer in if it ain't broke don't fix it
