The most popular amongst the people here are, MagnaFlow, Gibson, Flowmaster. Search google and go to those sites, they should have sound clips also.

It all depends on what you are looking (listening????) for. I prefer to go forthe silent sleeper (go figure) vehicle. On my '99 318 5 speed I had the stock muffler removed and had athree chamber Flowmaster installed with the factory tip. It sounds just mean enough for me but if you are looking for more sound two chamber units are louder. </P>

Single or duals?????? I will say that given the single pipeinto the muffler setup that the truck has there is no real advantage with a dual setup other than appearance. There is a theory that a dual set up will give more upper end (horsepower)power while a single pipe will tend to give more lower end (torque).</P>

I could sell you the Ractive full catback which is a 2.5" system with dual exits. It is made out of T-304 stainless steel. It also offers a nice deep tone. I can sell it for 450 dollars plus shipping.

I had stainless headers to two flowmasters and two pipes out on a 96 indy. It ran very well upper rpm's. The last indy I had, I used MP headers to single muffler with turndowns. I noticed more low end power, but less at higher rpm's. All other mods were the same on both trucks. I would have to say use two mufflers, with underdrive pulleys, and you will see that 318 spin some good numbers.</P>

Hmm, I couldn't find any sound samples for the Gibsons.....<IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"> I think out of the Flowmaster and the Magnaflow the Mags sound better. They sound more silky smooth and not so rough and loud as the Flowmaster.<edited><editID>Arcane</editID><editDate>38021.0607060185</editDate></edited>
