So basically we have people that like Borla, Magnaflow, and Gibson. I wish there was a way to hear them all or anyone that has had experience with them all?

The one thing I did to save some cash was to just replace the muffler. The stock pipes are the same aluminized pipe in the kits unless you are going w/ S.S. Have a tip welded on and you are good to go. I have a Magnaflow muffler (the one from kit #15740) on my 02 5.9 and it sounds great and performs better. The gas mileage increased from 12-13 as a constant to 15-17 depending how I drive. I also have a stage 2 jet chip and plan on a cold air induction. A local muffler or perfomance shop should be able to help. Good Luck.

I have an '03 4.7L and just purchased a Borla Pro XS muffler. It should be here tomorrow and if I have time, I'm going to put it on tomorrow.

I have an 03 with the 4.7L also, let us know what you think of the muffler. I'm looking to get a mild performance increase, but more on the sound and the Gas milage..

Keep us posted..

Default RE: Exhaust Systems?

Ok, I posted this in the exhaust forum as well, but it seems more people read the Ram forum than the exhaust forum. I received my muffler today but the muffler I got is only 19" from inlet pipe to outlet pipe. I measured my stock muffler and it is 23"+ from inlet pipe to outlet pipe. Are there some extensions that I can buy so I can bypass having it welded on? Or can I have some extensions welded on and then use the existing clamps to just replace the muffler? Or do I have to have extensions welded on and then the muffler welded on too? I'm at a loss and don't know what to do. I would appreciate any and all help so that I can get this done tomorrow. Thanks.
