Default PEOPLE HELP ME

Someone please take some time to convince me that the dodge ram 1500 quadcab is the best truck out there. I keep reading pros and cons.. most of the cons mention things like having to constantly take the truck in for small fixes.... I dont want to buy into a money pit... any advice..?

There is good and bad everything as far as vehicles are concerned. I would base my decision on the types of problems that the truck is having, and if the manufacturer is covering it. Good hunting.

I have had my Hemi since mid-November. I have not had one problem with it. The GMCs I owned before, were a lot more problematic than the Dodge. A large part of how you and your truck get along, is how you and the dealership get along. I'm fortunate in that the owner, the salesperson, and the service manager are all personal friends of mine. I also realize, that the dealership did not design and build my truck. My philosophy is you get more flies with honey than you do vinegar.

One noted difference between DC and GM is that DC is much more rules oriented when it comes to warranty issues. GM has much more flexibility. Also, DC seems to keep parts inventory lower, so it may take longer to get parts for a Dodge than it would for a GM. Having said all that, my '04 Dodge Ram QC Hemi is by far, the best truck when compared to all my previous GM trucks.

You didn't mention what motor you were considering. I've got the 4.7L 4X4 and it's the best truck I've ever owned... Period! It's performed flawlessly for the 4 months since I picked her up with 7 miles on the odometer, and it's done it during the worst winter in the last 20 years!! I just couldn't be happier.....

Drive 'em all..... then buy a Dodge..... You won't be sorry..... ;>D

We own two Rams and are waiting for our third, they are great trucks. Only one problem has occured when the coolant spurted out but that only took the mechanic a day to fix and the warranty covered it.

I just got my quad cab 4.7 this weekend and i absolutely love it. I have been shopping for a new silverado for months and went to a large dealership that offered both dodge and chevy. I was five minutes away from buying a silverado ext cab when my wife and i said what the heck and test drove the dodge. We were blown away by the difference. I had a silverado for the past two years and it was dead reliable and looked forward to buying another one. The only reason i never looked into a ram in the past is that i was under the impression they were alot more money. I got my slt for only a few bucks more than a somewhat equally equipped chevy. They even gave me an extra $750 rebate for switching from chevy.

I purchased my 5.7 Hemi back in November... I love it, haven't had any problems... I owned a 99 Ford F-150 before the Ram... Ford is a friggin' joke (no offensive to those Fordy's out there).

Anyway... I seem to have terrible luck NO MATTER what I buy... it could be subaru, a Kia, Ford, Range Rover.. it doesn't matter. SO knowing this I bought my Hemi and of COURSE something doesn't work the second I roll it off the Lot... THE GAS TANK METER.... but oh well.. I got it fixed in and out... small price to pay to drive the Bully of all trucks...

BUY THE DODGE...

I have 5000 miles on mine. Been to the dealer for a sqeek in the back door and STB flash to the TCM. Nice truck.

I have owned several chevy's, switched to ford due to our incentive program, owned 4 ford trucks, all performed extremely very well and had very very very very very few problems.

I took the chance on the new dodge since my buddies seemed to have quite a few problems with their 2001 and older dodges. But this new design seems to be working well. The tranny is questionable but the rest is not.

Overall I am pretty happy with dodge 1500 4x4 quad with hemi. I think you will be happy with a dodge as well.

I've always been a die-hard Ford fan because that is what my dad drives, I have a mustang, so on and so forth. The reason I chose the Dodge over the all the other trucks is because I think it is the cheapest best-looking truck out right now. The new chevy's in my opinion are ugly. I hate the slanted front end. And don't even think about bargaining with the Ford dealership on the new F150's. I don't think they'll budge. I have had my 4.7L quadcab since November and have had 0 problems with it, and it has just over 5000 miles on the odometer.
