Droppin' the rear of an '04Hemi
I noticed the spring hangers are different on the 04 1500 4dr rams. I had a 98 half ton and you could lower the rear with shackles. I want to sit the rear down on my hemi, but not sure how to do it. I went to O'Riellys and bought Belltech drop shackles for a chevy and it worked great for squating the rear of my 98 since the leaf springs are the same width. What should I do about my Hemi, and keep in mind that the payment is huge on this thing, so I'd like cheapies, but anything ya got will help!
My suggestion would be to find the companies on the web with the lowering kits and see how they do it. Sometimes you can duplicate it cheeper. Case in point is my BMW and it's cold air intake kit... some companies want as much as $300 bucks for a decent kit, where as I found the heat shield for $85, intake tube for $40, and a K&N cone for $45... well below the $300 mark.
Hope this helps

you can have someone fabricate your shackles or purchase aftermarkets its cheap either way!! and I have a pic of mine on disk to show you if needed .....here is an example of somone that had some made or purchased and these look great ....these are not mine i used my factory ones....just an example . by removing the support leaf you will drop 5/8 inch and adding shorter shackles you will drop 2-1/8 in the real secret to the smoother ride in this type of drop is cutting 1/2 in off your rubber block with a metal saw blade. hack saw or whatever (over your axle) not more than that though.the only cost for this drop is what you spend on your shackles..cant get any cheaper than that and it is easy enough to return it to factory.....may have to buy the shackles from -parts yard or dealer or as a thought do that to begin with and have that part fabricated and keep your original shackles and put them away for later.......................
