Default Muffler vs. Catback

I was thinking, I want to liven up the exhaust sound. Being that the truck is only 2 years old, I dont need to change the piping. Should I just buy a flowmaster muffler or buy a whole catback. Obviously were looking @ ~$100 vs ~$400. Would there be a significant power increase with the catback?

Power increase fer sure, Couldn't tell you EXACTLY how much. Flowmaster claims 15% Gain. I don't know if I believe that or not but it will fer sure be a + over just a muffler. I love my system. It sounds beautiful.

Depends if the original is large enough for you, and also you want it to be mandrel bent not stress bent (rippled at the bends). If so you will get a decent sound and a little on the performance side especially with the mandrel bent pipes. Its all a money pit in the end. Have fun...

I'm just gonna save up for a catback. Any recommendations for the best bang for the buck? I would like a nice rumble, nothing too loud.
