I broke a new record with my truck yesterday 14.5MPG! I coasted down hills, accelerated slowly, etc. Normally I average 11-13MPG.
Can anybody beat 14.5MPG with the HEMI?
P.S.
I found myself doing this because of:
1) the MPG LED read out that I have on my truck
2) high gas prices.
3) boredom on the roads

To save gas, you need to drive like a grandma (no offense to you grandmothers out there). I tried once.... I really did. After 1 minute, I couldn't take it anymore. ![Smile](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Our Hemi gets pretty good milage, considering.. the game I like to play is hitting the reset button right before going down a hill and seeing how high it goes to, the highest so far is 63.2 MPG, Suck on that toyota, my hemi got the milage of your prius!!!
Even if it was just for a few seconds...

If you turn the truck off and put it in nuetral and let it roll down a hill you might get the 99 MPG I have gotten doing this same trick in my Lincoln. In honest driving on the highway I have gotten over 21 on the highway with a tailwind.

I might trade mine in for an SRT-10...simply because at 434 HP..with all mods, I am still getting about 9-12 mpg which is already the out of the box SRT-10 ![Smile](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Believe it or not at a steady state cruise (55 on the CC), I got 15.1 over a 200 mile trip in my new Hemi Power Wagon. Remember that this thing has 4.56 gears and less than 1000 miles so far. I'm hopeful to hit that 17 MPG mark after she breaks in. But it's kinda hard to lay off the go pedal at times!! [sm=gears.gif]

I took my two week old '05 to Northern VA and back. ~1600 miles with an average MPG of 15. It was around 17 on the turnpikes.
That's according to the onboard MPG indicator. I haven't done the miles divided by fuel receipts yet.
