Default How to negotiate your best price.........

I am ready to buy a Ram 1500 . Every dealer I talk to tells me that right now I can get $3800 in rebates right now ($2500+1000 truck month rebate+ 300 business) This comes right off the EP (Employee Price) or "Green Sheet" Price because I know someone that works for Dodge. They get two of these numbers a year. From what the dealers tell me, you cannot get a lower price than this, it is "set in Stone".

IS this true, is it the lowest price you can buy a Ram at?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you are a relative of the dealer, I'd say you probably can't get a lower price unless you got some pictures of him/her with someone other than their spouse...

Toyota is building a plant here in San Antonio and will be offering a similar plan. EVERYBODY is trying to get a job there....

I recently shopped for an 04 Hemi QC. After rebates it was about 28,000 plus tax and tags.

How does the "green sheet" price compare to the dealer invoice...higher? lower? same?

Green sheet will save me almost $1500. I paid the guy $100, he gets two a year to use for family and friends.....Great deal.

When I was looking at new (I bought used) I got many quotes on-line. I live in Saint Louis with many Dodge dealers, so it is competitive. The prices I was quoted was about 80% of the sticker price and this was constant from most dealers. It included all the rebates and dealer discounting. I did find one dealer that offered an employee coupon and that price turned out to be about 75% of the sticker.

I found that asking for quotes on-line from the dodge website was very easy and most dealers were eager to sell.

For example on a 2x4 QC the sticker was $32,555 - $3250 (rebate) - $3135 (dealer discount of 10.7%) for a final price of $26,169.

This was emailed to me, no negotiation.

if you can get the EP pricing go for it. the manufacturer sets the pricing on that, so it is out of the dealers control. it is a VERY good price, and easy to get since it's predetermined.

Yes it is a good deal, and after this month is "history" again. They had offered before, retracted it, and 8 months later offered it again.....I have a feeling it will be back...I did learn however that the Green Sheet or Employee "Friends and family" Price does not allow for $300 business mans discount.... so right now untill 3/31 its $3500 off EP price....and you must take delivery by then, unless you family, you can take delivery later. If you're lucky enough to work for an OEM supplier for Dodge you can get just as good a price, even better in my case, than employees. I just bought an '04 QC Hemi for about $9000 off. Final price, out the door, $23,999.

Wow, that's an awesome price. And I thought I got a good deal. I got an '03 QC 4.7 w/20" rims, 3.92 rearend, tow package, 4-wheel ABS, fold flat storage, and body side molding. Sticker was $30,000 and some change and I got it out the door with TT&L for $24,500.
