I live in Western WA and we always get snow during the winter, I bought 2WD. I dropped about 650 lbs of sand in the back and it seemed to just fine, even when I went to play in the snow it was hard to break her loose... except if I cranked and jammed the E brake.


like previously said, watch the throttle around turns and taking off.

 

I used to live in Indiana and had a 2WD truck in the winters. I usually went to Home Depot or Lowes and bought some Quikcrete rather than sand. In the winter, an 80# bag of Quikcrete is usually around $1, for $5 you have an easy 400#.

 

I have a 2wd, and I go places with it that most guys wouldn't try going with their 4X4, around here anyway.

Fishtailing is the best, I believe it's one of the reasons for owning a truck. 2wd hasn't let me down yet, if you get stuck, you rock it out, or pull out the tow rope. If you got stuck, it's always your fault and you probably shouldn't have been doing whatever you were doing anyway. That's the way I see it. I don't plan on ever owning a 4X4.
