HID's for the 1500
Has anyone managed to convert their stock headlights to HIDs? I'm not talking about the HID look-a-like halogen bulbs. From what I gather there are lots of fakes for sale on the web. I've heard the philips bulb and ballast are the way to go. I haven't heard any good/bad things about any rebaser's though. I talked to some vendors but haven't found any sites with a reasonable price and return policy. Any recommondations?

RE: HID's for the 1500
When i read this i immediatly went looking for what i could find on HID conversion kits, my intrest was peaked, as i too would liek to do this for my truck. I just couldnt find alot of kits to do the conversion.. period. I found alot of HID driving/fog replament lamps.. but thats not what i want. What brands were you looking at? Besides Phillips and Rebaser.
Thnx

I've been looking here:
www.cloud9motorsports.com
They sell the 9007 Polarion kit for the dodge ram for a reasonable price compared to other sites. They also only have a 10% restock fee if you return; most sites are 20-25% (bunch of crooks. restock fee my ***!).
As for a rebaser... thats actually a term I found for the companies that put the kits together. Philips makes the bulbs and ballast, and the rebaser company buys those and 're-bases' the bulb so it fits a standard halogen fixture. They also put together the wiring and other stuff the kit includes, wires, fuses, etc.
Be sure to check if its legal around your area before you buy them!! The kit is $500 on that site, and you dont want a ticket on top of that. You wont find any good kits for much cheaper then that either.
The HID's are difenitly nice. If you know anyone that has a vehicle with HID's ask them if you can drive their car around a dark parking lot one night... they kick so much ***.
My question still stands though. Has anyone here actually done this, and has some feedback?

I did a HID setup on my 96 Ram, which was simple. I have done alot of kits in the past and this one was the easiest. I got the 8500K kit from www.globalpremier.com. It comes with everything needed to set the kit up, and all the wires are plug and play. I didnt have to splice or solder one wire. Comes with a one year warranty also, so for $325.00 you cant beat it.
