Default hemi mpg

what kind of gas mileage are you guys getting out of your 04 hemi's? I'm really wondering because I have recently been looking at buying a new hemi and the gas mileage is scaring me. I hear some people saying that they are only getting like 10mpg. Is that true? If you can tell me if your truck is 2x4 or 4x4, quad cab or standard, automatic or manual. That will be alot of help. Ohh yeah and also if you have any mods to your truck. I hope ou guys can help me decide on my new truck.

If you want a big truck you can't expect to get car gas mileage, there is no way. Now the sticker says 13 city and 17 HWY, my wife says it's getting better than that, closer to 20. But it is also brand new and I'm sure that is going to play a role. So go with what the sticker says, expect slightly better at times and slightly worse. Your not going to get 9 or something horrid like that unless you put a lift and 35's on there. All the info on my truck is right below. Good luck and if you want the best you have to get a Hemi!

2004 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 5-speed auto

Mods are listed in my signature.

I'm averaging 13.5 to 14 mpg in town and 17.5 - 18 mpg on the highway. I don't drive above the speed limit, nor do I put my foot into it very often. My figures are not from the overhead console, but from doing the math.

Right now I have 10k on the odometer. Early on, my mileage averaged around 9.5 - 10 mpg in town and 12 - 12.5 mpg on the highway.

i have noticed that the paper in the window says 13 and 17 on all of the hemi's. Would'nt it matter how big the truck is. Like quad cab or small cab? wieght would be a big factor in gas mileage. If thats the case the quad cab shouldn't get as good as the smaller truck.

personnally im a ford man ,i know your goona dog me for that, but i really like the new dodge trucks. I also found a dealer in north carolina that can get me a really good deal. 2004 quad cab 4x4 short bed with chrome 20"s and the hemi engine and what ever color i wanted for about $27,000. Thats a hell of a deal considering that that same truck in my area is like 34 or 35 g's . For that price im considering on eating the gas mileage thing.

I have a 2004 HEMI with 350 miles on it. It is a 2x4 quad cab with a flowmaster single in dual out. I am getting about 12.5 miles per gallon in the city right now. I will be taking it on a road trip in a couple of weeks so I will let you know what I get on the Highway.

I have 8-8500 on mine. 2003 Quad Cab 4x4 with off road package (17" wheels & 3.92's). When I first got the truck the best I could do was 10 town and country and 9 in town. I saw 11 once but it was because I didn't spend anytime in town that go around.

I put on a FIPK and started getting 11-12 in town and town and country averages around 13-14. The best I have seen so far on a trip to the mountains and back was 17. No freeway trips yet.

I have had a chance to tow my 24ft travel trailer. The trip consisted of a little freeway and mostly 2 lane rolling hills with a couple of mountain climbs. Average mpg was 9.5 and I drove conservatively.
