Default Feedback on K&N air filter for 04 Hemi

Anybody have any feedback on the K&N air filters? Notice any difference in performance? Thanks![sm=smiley16.gif](04 Ram 4x4 quad 5.7l)

None, but I'm don't think you will feel just a couple HP.

I agree. I added the K&N drop-in filter because all my vehicles have them. It probably helps during WOT, but when starting with 345HP, a 1-3% increase is hard to notice.

The K&N is a no-brainer. Once you buy 2 of the cheap paper air filters (I'm talking for the HEMI, sorry if you don't have one, LOL), you have already bought a K&N. It isn't really a power investment, but a value investment.

i bought a k&N air charger a few months back. the most noticable difference is in the soud your exhaust makes, especially if u have an aftermarket one. throttle response was noticably better, but as for overall extra power i couldn't tell. although im not sure how important it is to reset the vehicles computer. just do some research cause im not sure if it was worth 250$

i like k&n and i've been a fan for a long time but thier cold air intake requires you to remove the hemi engine cover. i think all the cold air intakes are similar and only provide small increases compared to each other 1-2 hp maybe. but over the stock induction huge gains up to 25hp. try the volant on, it lets you keep the cover and it looks the nicest. www.volantperformance.com

Everyone..
Seems like noone has tried the K&N topper filter... the one that is exposed to hood scoops (if ya got em) Hemipower4 and I would probably benefit a lot from K&Ns filter that is exposed to the hook scoop... has anyone tried it or seen it tried anywhere? Lemme know.

MATRIX...
It cost me about 1300 canadian... so about 900 american.... thats painted too... but I got a good deal cuz I bought it at the same time I bought the truck... so you might end up with the same number as I did, but in american dollars.

The hood is an SRT-10 Ram hood. Here it is in silver too.

When I put on the new intake tube, I noticed there was a black oily soot around the throttle body valve(butterfly). I cleaned it up. Im waiting to see if it comes back in about 500 miles. I have heard others mention this too. Time will tell I guess.
