how much abuse will a 360 take??
I got a 1961 Dodge D-300 Power wrecker with a 360 2bbl,4spd , 4.88 gear's,and 6.50-16'.
it run's 67mph@4,100rpm's engine has almost 380,000 miles on it.
and that 360 will run circles around a 302 ford and a 350chevy...
it's about dead tho idles hot at 7 psi oil pressure with 20w-50 oil.
But i'll shoot right up to 35-40 psi as soon as you hit the throttle.
i spent 3.5-4 hour's last week puling a 79 chevy 1 ton out of the mud he had 35's on it sank the truck up to the rocker panel's and the floor pan.
i backed my dodge in the mud tied my front axel to the old oak tree ran my winch cable out a good 250-300 yard's.....
it's an old brandon 30,000LB winch with heavy cable. 375 yard's of cable.
well any who my poor 360 spent almost 4 hour's free wheeling at 3300rpm's running the winch..... I Was wondering will them 360's hold this kind of stress all the time like this one has or is this a special 360 thats putting up with all of this?? cause if it was a 350chevy it would have blowen up 4 times by now??
