Default 04' Oil Pressure

I understand that the gauge in my 04 is a dummy light equivilent(not actual pressure). Is it possible to change the sender to a pressure type?

This same question came up on another site. It is my understanding that the sending unit cannot be swapped out, since it serves a dual roll; one of sending a signal to the "indicator" and the other to the computer. With the "indicator" not having any numbers, it would serve no purpose to swap the sending unit anyway, because you still would not know the actual pressure.

Best to get one of the A-Pillar gage pods and install a real oil pressure gage.

I read that more than 5 pounds of oil pressure will cuase the gauge needle to point straight up. I guess that will keep you from going to the dealer and complaining about low oil pressure.
