5volt ref should be orange, purple would be sensor signal and brown is sensor ground. Orange and brown are on the outside of the connector, purple in the middle

Default RE: 1995 4WD RAM SPEED SENSOR

dodgemech thanks for the help.
The directions that came with the unit are more complicated than they need to be. I finally figured it out, the only wire that needed to be cut was the ORG/WHT (On a 1995 RAM). The super lift unit green wire attaches to the plug side and the yellow attaches to the loom side (basicly goes in between the ORG/WHT wire after it's cut. I have 38.5" super swamper tires and am trying to correct the shift points, speedo, and get better fuel economy. I will let ya know how it works. I also ordered 4:56 gears so that should bring it close to the factory relm.

Thanks again,
SOPMOD OUT-

SOPMOD ... im in the process of lifting my truck, but i think im only going w/ 35 or 36's.
its a 95 laramie slt ext cab sht box 360 4x4 auto. but on to my question.
when you buy the "Super Lift True Speed Speed Sensor " do you specifiy the tire size?
or do you do that after you get the unit hooked to your truck...???

what im trying to say is will your 'speed sensor' work on a truck w/ smaller tires?

billyd12,

Yes you can use any size tire or gear combo, easy install once ya get past the directions. It's a four wire hook up, 12v power, Ground, and two wires on the speed sensor. Yours is the same year as mine so you will need to cut the Orange with White stripe wire on the mopar sensor. The sensor is located on the tail shaft of the transfer case driver side.
I mounted my unit on the bottom of steering colum below the dash via zip ties. You need to have easy access to fine tune it. It has ajustment screws that are turned in or out for tuning. Once it's set your done and don't have to mess with it unless you change tire size or gear again.

SUMMIT RACING http://www.summitracing.com/has it in stock for $175 w/free shipping. That the cheapest I have found.
It defanatly has changed my shift points, I plan on fine adjusting it in the AM via RADAR and GPS.

I will provide a follow up if you would like?

Hope this helped you out.........

thats what i want to hear.
but do you need to leave this 'speed sensor' attached to your vechicle at all times?
or do you just plug it in for a few minutes, unplug it, and sit it on the shelf?
