Default Rims/Tires.

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding rims and tires for my 1998 dodge ram 1500 extend cab, 4x4. I want to get my truck to have a little bit of everything, better capability for light offroading, a taller truck, and a B.A. look. So I was wondering what I can do in order to make a taller and look better with some beffier tires but nothing extreme. What could I get bigger on the stock rims without a lift? With say a small body lift, could I get something bigger on the same rims or just get new rims. As you can sort of see I'm not big with info on tires and all so I figured I would ask. If I was to buy things I wouldn't go on an overkill price, something good but not expensive. And also, tires that I could drive year round in all conditions, so no huge studded swampers. If anyone has any suggestions or could answer my questions I would greatly appricate that.

Thanks,
Mike.

Hey check out the BF Goodrich Radial Mud Terrains. They've got that super agressive offroad/mudder look (and are VERY capable offroad), but they're radials and are streetable as well. The best of both worlds! Plus, they're not very expensive (around 150 per tire)

If I was to get the BFGoodrich Radial Mud Terrian tires, then is it possible to get then the size to fit on the stock alloy rims that come with my truck. I want something bigger than the tires I have now which are Firestone Wilderness A/T, size LT265/75/R16. What is the biggest size I could fit without a lift kit,or maybe just a slight body lift, say 1-2 or at the most 3 inches.

Well I have 17 inch rims and 33X12.5 on my truck. No lift and no rubbing. I have a 04 Ram quad cab but another poster here had a 98 Ram and was told this would fit on his truck. I do like the BF mud terrain idea but if that is not your cup-o-tea the same company makes good AT tires too.

I have BFG M/T 285/70R17 on my '02 1500. Pics are in the gallery. Still have about 1.5" clearance when I do lock to lock on the steering.
