Default RE: New Hemi Ram GTX

This was taken from a HEMI GTX owner off another website, about the trucks...

Info I gathered on these trucks is that there will be a total of 1000 trucks built. 500 SC and 500 QC. The first 100 trucks built were orange. I am assuming that this is the first 100 SC trucks. Options are a billet gas door...that is it.

There are some differences that have occured

1) Somewhere after #100, they began ordering the trucks with power seats.

2) The wheel style changed between #55 and #100. The wheel first used was Prime wheels. Prime ran out of wheels and had a back order, so La West went with a different wheel style.

3) At some point after #100, La West began installing a vinyl decal on the tailgate indicating the truck was a Dodge. This was at the request of the dealers.

All colors after the first 100 will be dictated by what the dealers order from La West.

Now, if that truck had a stick and a hurst comp II shifter it would be perfect. I still have no idea how Dodge can sell a would be drag truck without a stick option. Take the NV4500 and put it in there with a short throw shifter and a super duty clutch and then it would be the NUTZ.

Why not just get an SRT-10 at that point.
All these others like the Rumble Bee and the GTX seem to be nothing more than a stock truck with some love-it-or-hate-it styling, most of which is not functional AFAIK.
No offense to any owners.

A Rumble Bee is a limited edition truck (appearance package) and what not, only 3700 made. Most of us dont have another 20-25,000 to drop on a SRT-10, so we just opt for a Ram, and hell, why not get a special edition Ram for only a few thousand more? That's the sense in that, but about the GTX, I have no clue. [:-] No limited numbers, just a limited truck. The colors are [&:] and I dont really like the interior. BTW, no offense taken [8D]

More than a few thousand I would think. Did any of the Rumble Bee owners get much of a discount off MSRP on those limited trucks?
All I'm saying is that the sticker on my truck (HEMI Laramie QC) was around $36K and I think I paid about $25K for it (before tax). You could build one hell of a truck with that loot.
I would be all over a special edition if it had some actual performace upgrades, but a number tag isn't worth much IMO, especially if there are three thousand plus out there. Hardley limited.

I once bought a special edition car: 1997 VW Driver's Edition GTI VR6. There were only 500 made. Special color and interior, but it also had upgraded brakes, wheels, shocks, sway bars etc. so I'm just as guilty.
I was just hoping that there were some physical upgrades on these Rams than just cosmetic... and price.

The Rumble Bee Group offered on the trucks, only cost $2,500 more.

Sorry, i'm a slow replyer, lol, but I have an 04 ram which stickered at 36K, since i work for the railroad i also get invoice (close to it) and the rebates which still applied to it since it is a ram, So I paid 27K for mine, pretty good discount i think. And you also said that with that extra loot you could be driving all over as a special edition truck?? Custom yes, special edition no. I know for a fact that until about 3 weeks ago i had the only Orange Hemi GTX 04 in eastern kansas, and there happens to be only 1 other one at a dealarship in kansas city, so rare yes, worth the money to see guys with truly rare hemi cuda's come over and drool, yes. Mine is lowered and has a tv in it and yes anywhere i go i get harrassed. I love my truck (when its nice and i get time to drive it) and i love the quad cabs but research before you dog on stuff.

Personally the rumble bee i saw at the dealership was a 4X2 with cloth interior so it basically was a normal ram painted yellow with a $30 stripe kit so i wasn't impressed and they wanted $35K for it, but i love the black ones, they are nnnnnnnnice!!!!!!!! anyways i am not disrespecting you just making the other side of the story clear! good conversation is all!
