Ill say this,: Lets Hook Up The Chains!!! I could drag a titan all over the planet!!

Just kinda an FYI, The new HEMI that was designed was originally 700 BHP. Alot of detuning was involved to bring down the power and emissions to be 50 state legal. Just thought you all would want to know

I think thats a load of crap personally.... Accidently getting 700 hp out of it? Yeah right.

Why would they go up to a 6.1L if they could just flip a few switches and get 450 horse out of it?

Hell.. why would they put a v10 in the viper?

You see I work down at Newark Assembly Plant building Durango's and I know people. Engineers Designers and so on, But thats not even how I know. See for every new vehicle DC produces there is such a thing as a Launch Team. This team consists of line workers, material handlers, vendors, engineers, and all kinds of other people who make new vehicles happen. On this launch team my good friends James who was in the chassis division, and Barry who was in the engine build division. These 2 (among others) were working hand in hand with the team of people who designed and built the new fuel injected 2 spark plug version that is now 345 hp and 375 ft/lbs. (on the durango subtract 10 hp) That is the information that the 2 of them told me on seperate occasions. Am I sure that the origonal was 700 HP, Nope. Am I sure that both of them arent just full of crap, Nope. Am I sure that the both of them told me the same exact story at 2 different times, Yup. Do I know other people on the launch team who diddnt say anything about it, Yup. So you could very well be right. I could be full of crap, but I will bet you this, my information carries alot more weight than your just saying thats full of crap because to you it sounds like a bunch of crap...

The same unknown reasons the neons are getting 230 hp with a turbo and intercooler, and a Jap 2.0 is getting is getting 210 Natural. Maybe the same way titan is getting more torque without being a HEMI and only being a 5.6. Another example is the old Acura Integra's with the type R package were 200 hp with a 1.8 liter engine. I dont know what that reason is but im sure it is the same. I have no idea why a company would detune an engine so much in the first place. I have always wanted more efficent motors to start popping up. Nowadays with gas being the way it is maybe we will start seeing it more and more.

my bro-in-law has a Chevrolet 283 with over 800 hp at the crank

why does chevy make 305, 307, 327, 350, 400, 427, 454? just cus it's smaller doesn't mean it's always weaker
