they are both black with sport package, and i like the looks of either cab. i really want the 360 motor but it isn't available in 5 speed, i hate automatic and will only get a vehicle that has manual transmission. i'm single but do have a dog, i think i'll opt for more cab space with the qc, i know it will come in quite handy. afterall i'm willing to sacrifice a little performance for convenience.

i'll be getting headers, exhaust, and cai for the truck once i buy it. if i have any funds left over, i think i'd be interested in one of the fastman throttle bodies, quicker response is something i definately value. there's nothing worse than delay of pickup when you stomp on the gas.

I dont know if your dog is like mine, but i went for the slt because i didnt want to get a truck with leather interior just to have the dog wreck it.

you also would not be getting 22mpg with a V8 either.

Really the choice is about YOU, and not thye truck at all. How many people do you carry? Are you married? Planning kids? No Kids? Dog?

It's about what the truck has to do. Single guy with GF and a doggie and the Regular cab fills my needs quite well. I also would not be getting 22 MPG with a QC.

You took the words right out of my mouth Speaking of mileage, the '97 I had was a reg cab short bed 4x4 with an auto tranny and 5.2. The best I ever got with that was about 18mpg, and I only got it once that I remember. I usually got 11 mpg around town and 13 or 14 mpg on the highway. The qc with the 360 (which is a gas hog from hell) and auto tranny, I get about 9mpg around town while hogging on it, and about 11 mpg if i'm nice to it. On the highway it's usually around 12 or 13, but I can probably squeeze 16 or 17 out if i'm really nice. That 360 sure does know what to do with the gas when I floor it You'll probably get better than what I do in either truck because of the manual tranny

I got two dogs: 60lbs Lab/BorderCollie mix and a 90lbs Shepherd.
My truck is a QC Laramie (leather) and the fold flat load floor under the rear seats are PERFECT for the dogs. Leather also is much easier to get dog hair off, wipe up drool, and does not absorb the smell like cloth does.
As long as you can keep the claws off, it's a much better choice IMO.

I picked the Quad Cab for a couple of reasons.

1- This replaced my 4-door car. I do need to carry passengers less than 10% of the time.
2- I have the fold flat steel floor in the back and it is where I carry things out of the rain and secure.
