Hi,
I was thinking of getting a MUFFLER for my 2004 RAM 5.7, but only for the better sound.
However, I could also just remove the RESONATOR (the last box in the exhaust system), and that this will already increase the sound volume. It would cost me only about 30$, and I heard the sound remains identical, just louder.
Did anyone do that ? How is the sound ?
Thanks

I have a 2006 Hemi and I also want a better sounding exhaust but I do not want that awful sounding roar. I just want a nice purr when I throttle up. No loud popping or anything.
I was looking at a Magnaflow system but I am worried about the sound. I wish there was a way to hear these different CAT-Backs on my truck so I could pick one. I am looking for a performance upgrade but not a screaming exhaust when I reach 3-4krpm.

I removed the resonator on my 05. I could tell a difference, but it was very little. I'm going to go with a flowmaster soon.
I've also heard of guys removing the muffler and leaving the resonator. Technically it is still a muffler.
Cost me $10 for a pipe to remove the resonator and I welded it in myself.
