19 MPG - a new record!
Just wanted to share..
I actually hit 19 MPG today, yea!
I filled up right before going on a 210 mile drive and finally saw the 18.7 I usually get
creep up to 18.8, 18.9... then 19.0!
Woohoo!
ok, its still crumby mileage compared to a civic or something but
hey this is a HEMI quad cab SB with a cap!
I'm thrilled!

I just had it serviced at the dealership (15k service even though I was closer to 17K)
They rotate tires, check a few dinky things, and pull part, clean, and refill the
rear diff.
Think that had anything to do with it? Anyone?
It's sweet regardless!

Congrats!! I'm sure the service had something to do with it, but not as much as you may think. You were just driving it at optimal specifications.

That's pretty good. The best I've done was 20.1 HWY. That was actual MPG, not going by what the overhead is showing. My actual MPG varies considerably from the computer estimates. The actual is usually lower on my truck.
Did you request the differential fluid change, or did they say it was part of the 15K service?

The rear-diff was part of the 15K service.
Although the fluid basically looked brand new, there was a good bit of shavings in the bottom of it.
They said that is "typical of the rear-end break in process" and that is why they take they
do it at 15K. They also take the plate off to clean it vs. just pumping out the fluid.
I didn't stick around to look myself but the whole service was about $100 bucks and that
included the rear-end, oil change, tire rotation, and some "leather treatment" stuff they
gave me for free (haven't tried it yet)

That's cool. Just didn't want to think I was missing something. I know on the Dakotas, that there was a magnet in the bottom of the differentail to pull the shavings out of the fluid. I haven't had the cover off mine yet, but perhaps I'll change it at 15K as well.
