It has to do with you not READING the entire post - the ENTIRE MTX line is CHEAP GARBAGE - hence "nice" clothes at TARGET. Can it get any more CLEAR. Perhaps you would like me to speak another language that you "might" understand better?

I have the MTX thunderform with the two MTX subs and sounds great. I have had JL's in the the past and they sound awesome, too. If you don't want to compete, but have a good system, the MTX is the way to go. BTW the reason why the JL's or whatever speakers didn't sound good in the MTX box is because those boxes are specifically designed for MTX subs. The key to making them sound good is a quality amp, I have a fosgate that's good for 500W @ 4 ohms mono bridged. One thing you will have to do is replace your factory speakers even if you have the infinity system....those subs will drown them out. Look at www.pricegrabber.com for the best prices on audio gear.

Your correct there cpfd, a box is made for the subs in it, and if you replace them with different subs, it will sound crappy. And 2k4, the only think i said in my post about mtx, was there box is to shallow for the kicker's i suggest, rather then the JL's. And i have to agree thou with cpfd, if you run there subs, in there enclosure, MTX does sound good there amps are also decent.

i'd like to reply to the comment about having a box that replaces the lower half of the front middle seat. I have one with a JL 10" sub and it sounds great and takes up absoultly no room in my truck. bought it on the recomendation of others on this forum and i am glad that i did. its got the factory carpet and u cant even tell i have a box in my truck. thats my 2 cents

I have to check my bill, but I believe it was low ~$400. Shop around for the best price. Retail on that thing is over $500[sm=smiley3.gif]

$450 for the Stealth box with the 10w3vs sub is a good price, and worth it. It's a "perfectly" matched sub and box.

ok i'm friggin pissed.
all the info i've been getting is that the rear speakers are 5 and 1/4" speakers. well i tried to install aftermarket 5 and quarter components and they were too small. a six inch would probably fit in there... i don't feel like doing all the work to make baffles , and rewiring would also have been a pain in the *** so i'm just going to have the pro's do it. argh...
